7th Annual Mysore Yoga Conference

February 3-12 2025

in Mysore India

Experience the true beauty of Mysore’s Yoga Tradition! Listen to the senior scholars, yogis, pundits and spiritual leaders of Mysore teach the history and philosophy of yoga while you practice asana, pranayama, mudra and bandha with expert teachers in a beautiful poolside resort just outside of Mysore. This conference is a unique educational experience that touches the soul. When we made the film Mysore Yoga Traditions in 2016 it was apparent that Mysore is a treasure chest of knowledge. Nearly all serious yoga practitioners would like to feel connected to a yoga tradition in some way. Learning about the philosophy and history of yoga from the senior scholars and spiritual leaders in Mysore is the best way we know to deepen our connection with the yoga practices that we all love so much! Mysore Yoga Conference is an opportunity to meet face to face with students of Sri Krishnamacharya and gain first hand insight into the yoga culture of Mysore.

Take a journey into yoga while practicing Ashtanga Yoga, Pranayama, Mudra, and Therapeutic techniques with senior teachers Andrew Eppler, Joey Paz and Bryce Delbridge each morning. Afternoons will be spent taking and deep look at yoga philosophy with Mysore’s masterful scholars who have studied yoga since they were children and carry the true spirit of yoga. Reflect on these great teachings together with yoga practitioners from all over the world. Learn about the Mysore Yoga Parampara which Sri Krishnamacharya belonged to, a lineage of spiritual practice that has existed in Mysore for over a thousand years. Get insight into the history of the asana practices that have brought Mysore international fame. At lease half of all postural yoga poractices around the world today can be traced back to Sri Krishnamacharya who is considered the father of modern yoga. If you believe yoga has touched your life and want to know more about the roots of the practice you love, Mysore Yoga Conference will be a wonderful, eye-opening experience!

Melkote Yoga Immersion

If you attend Mysore Yoga Conference you are eligible for a discount for our Melkote event. Experience the ancient roots of Mysore’s yoga tradition!

February 17-21 2025

for those who want to go even deeper into the yoga tradition we have yet another amazing educational experience to offer! We will all experience the magic of Melkote on the last day of our retreat. For those who would like to spend more time there and go deep into the roots of the spiritual tradition that Ashtanga yoga has come from, we have a special opportunity!

Melkote is a center for yogic knowledge in South India and has a very close connection with the Yoga Tradition of Mysore. Melkote is the epicenter of the yogic tradition that Sri Krishnamacharya came from and it has been patronized by the Royal Family of Mysore for the last 400 years, since the beginning of the Wadiyar Dynasty. Learn about the ancient roots of the yoga parampara which gave the world Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga! We will be practicing yoga in thousand year old temples, visiting the holy sites and learning about the rich history of the yoga we love to practice. This will be an immersion in Indian culture and a profound educational experience.

When we trace the history of yoga postures that were taught and practiced in Mysore we get a somewhat limited idea about the overall background of yoga in Mysore. When we explore the spiritual tradition that Sri Krishnamacharya came from we get a much more complete understanding of the rich and beautiful tradition that the yoga we practice today has come from. To learn more about the history of Nathamuni Sampradaya have a look at our tribute page to our late acharya SRI LAKSHMITHATHACHAR.

For yoga practitioners that would like to explore the spiritual tradition that the yoga practice which has changed their life in so may ways has come from this will be this will be an unforgettable experience!
