You will learn the Primary Series as a foundational sequence including the Sanskrit names, vinyasa counts, adjustments, verbal cues and contraindications. While staying grounded in Ashtanga Yoga sequences we will explore a global fusion of techniques. You will learn the techniques for taking yoga beyond physical exercise as you experience pranayama, mudra and meditation. You will learn each of the branches of Ashtanga Yoga and you will have online resources to continue absorbing information and refining your knowledge.
Regular personal practice during the training is strongly encouraged. Our training is a journey into yoga practice on all levels and daily self practice is required in order to absorb the information fully. It is also recommended that you create a situation where you can practice with other people and share your ideas and techniques. This can be leading a class or simply practicing with friends. We value hands on personal experience whether you are learning locally or from far away.

A key feature of this area of our training is postural analysis and the art of observing the human body. You will learn the markers of imbalance and how to notice them in yourself and others. By cultivating a keen sense of observation we encourage safety, accuracy in technique and become better practitioners.
We focus on Functional Anatomy so that you learn by direct experience what the muscles we are studying actually do in your body. We will also learn what happens if musculature becomes imbalanced and how to recognize and correct these imbalances. We give you many tools for assessing the symmetry and stability of the human body. You will learn safe and effective methods for correcting physical imbalances. This training is aimed at creating joyful, pain free yoga practice that can be enjoyed through all stages of life.
Graduates of the program will have many techniques to work with including an introduction to Thai bodywork that is very useful to help understand postural adjustments. We believe a competent yoga practitioner should be able to correct their practice when they are experiencing pain and difficulty in postures. Our training gives you the experience and techniques you need to do this. You will also have the knowledge to help others in their yoga journey.

Our Philosophy of Ashtanga Yoga course is a powerful and eyeopening experience. This segment includes the six classical Indian philosophies known as the Shet Darshanas, (Yoga being one of these). We also explore Bhagavad Gita, and Patanjali Sutras. We aim to give our students an accurate understanding of yoga as a philosophy and explore the world view that it rests upon. You will enjoy many lectures by renowned Sanskrit scholars from Mysore talking about the history of yoga in Mysore as well as its philosophical background. You will get a deep and articulate view of yoga through direct exposure to the yoga community of Mysore India. You will be learning traditional as well as contemporary views of yoga philosophy as we discus the concepts with an international group of sincere students.
We cover the history of Ashtanga Yoga and impart an accurate view as to which aspects of it are ancient and which aspects are modern. You will be hearing the stories of how yoga developed in Mysore India (the birthplace of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga) directly from the people who witnessed it in their own community.

We will study Mysore Yoga Parampara in detail as we explore the tradition of Nathamuni Sampradaya and learn about the Vishishta Advaita philosophy that that Sri Krishnamacharya belonged to. You will learn the history of Mysore’s yoga tradition and the lineage that goes back over a thousand years. Most Ashtanga Yoga practitioners have some vague idea about what Parampara means. In this program you can learn about the lineage which has been handed down from father to son uninterruptedly for the last thousand years.
When yoga philosophy is explained by senior Sanskrit scholars it takes on a whole different meaning and becomes a direct transmission of world view and life experience. For the Final Exam, both online and in person, you are required to have memorized the Ashtanga Primary Series including the Sanskrit names of the postures and the 8 limbs of Ashtanga Yoga.
*Graduation requirements are slightly different for In Person and Online Programs.
TRAININGS are one weekend per month. They can be joined in person or remotely via Zoom.

Price for our Online Training Program: $1800 (USD)
PAYMENT PLAN: Pay $165 per month for 12 months
Full Payment Option: Pay $1692 to start the course. When you have completed the curriculum and passed your oral exam with Andrew Eppler, you can schedule your final exam with Dr. M A Alwar from the Maharaja’s Sanskrit College in Mysore India. You will need to pay a final exam fee of $108 at that time. Dr. M A Alwar is a renowned Sanskrit scholar who comes from an unbroken line of scholars going back hundreds of years. He will test your knowledge of the fundamentals of Indian Philosophy including Sankhya and the foundational meaning of Yoga. After successful completion of the final exam you will be given a certificate of completion from Ashtanga Yoga Studio and Samskriti Foundation as well as Yoga Alliance. You will have a thorough education in yoga which will serve you for years to come.
Th join the Online Training program simply fill out the form and choose a payment option. You will get access to the curriculum immediately and you can start right away. The program is self paced and you have 12 months to complete it. You can join our trainings remotely one weekend per month, and you also get recordings of the live sessions in case you cant make it or your time zone doesn’t permit.

Price for the In Person Training Program $2500
PAYMENT PLAN: $600 down payment and eight payments of $275 on each training date.
To join the In Person training program you will need to interview first to make sure it is a good fit for you. The In Person Training consists of 9 weekends with Andrew Eppler and friends. Each weekend module has a theme and specific focus. Training days always begin with asana practice and provide a complete yoga experience that is suitable for everyone wherever they are at in our training process. To complete the training you need to attend 9 modules and the written assignments for the course. All written assignments and the final exam must be completed within 12 months from start to finish. We understand that life can get complicated and try our best to make our training available to everyone!
*Tuition for In Person Training also includes access to our Online Training Program. If you need to miss a weekend you have all the material you need to make up for it, or you can join us with Zoom.
DROP IN for a weekend module for $250
You can drop in for a single module with no obligations if you would like to try our training before committing to the entire program. There is no down payment and you have up to 12 months to join the program if you decide you would like to complete the training.
