Thai Massage Course with Andrew Eppler

TRADITIONAL THAI MASSAGE IS AN ANCIENT HEALING SCIENCE THAT COMBINES ACUPRESSURE, STIMULATION OF ENERGY LINES, DEEP RHYTHMIC BREATHING, AND ASSISTED YOGA POSTURES.

This traditional healing art form is something like having yoga done to you. Rather than rubbing the muscles, the body is compressed, stretched, and rocked in a way that effectively opens blockages and relieves tension in the body. The practitioner used thumbs, palms, forearms, elbows, knees and feet to create a thoroughly relaxing and healing experience for the recipient. During a Thai Massage the joints are gently opened, the tendons and ligaments are stretched, internal organs are toned, and overall energy is balanced and restored. The effect of a full body Thai Massage is a powerful and rejuvenating mind/body healing experience.

Traditional Thai Massage, also sometimes called Thai Yoga Massage, began to evolve over a thousand years ago in Thailand and has both Indian and Chinese influences. The Thai system focuses on circulation of vital energy through major pathways referred to as sen lines. These energy lines are manipulated and important pressure points along them are stimulated to increase the flow of energy and restore balance and harmony. Andrew always attempts to maintain a state of concentration throughout the session incorporating yoga practices of mindfulness, breath awareness, and compassion.

Andrew Eppler has studied Thai Massage for over 25 years. He first began his journey with this style of work in Chang Mai Thailand at the Old Medicine Hospital where he completed their 30 hour training. He went on to study with expert teachers in Austria, England and Greece, and then completed his level 1 and 2 training in the TMC school of Thai Massage with Chock Petchprom in 2014. Andrew has studied Shiatsu, Myofascial and Myoskeletal Bodywork, Muscle Activation Technique and Chiropractic in addition to Thai Massage, but he has always felt that Traditional Thai massage was his favorite modality and the best format to use his other skills in. As a long time Yoga teacher, Andrew enjoys helping people to help themselves.
